Their two-in-one app simplifies bookkeeping and taxes for the self-employed and accountants across the UK. Trusted by over 30,000 customers, the app automates the time-consuming aspects of bookkeeping and taxes, encouraging good recordkeeping and making it easier to run a small business.

Investment rationale

Gresham House Ventures invested in a £9.1m Series A funding round to drive product innovation, growth and team expansion, as well as to fuel their product roadmap, including the launch of a digital tax filing service, ahead of the Making Tax Digital regulations coming into effect from April 2022.

James Hendry

Investment Director

James joined Gresham House Ventures in December 2019 as an Investment Manager and was promoted to Investment Director in 2024. He focuses on investing into high-growth enterprise software and services businesses, with a focus on process automation, data and analytics, and cybersecurity solutions.

At GHV, James has led investments in Fu3e, OzoneAPI and Veremark, and serves as Investor Director on the board of SecureCloud+.

Prior to joining GHV, James spent five years at PwC, most recently in the financial due diligence team. He is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds an MA in Economics and Accounting from the University of Edinburgh.
